This past Friday we got together at the home of the team leaders for a social get-together and BBQ. As usual, it was a great time to enjoy the fellowship with other team members, getting to know one another just a bit better.
Elizabeth and Andria were not able to attend as Elizabeth was....in Belize! Her and her husband, Kendrick are spending some time there now and then...she will be a great help to us in understanding the culture and people a bit better before we leave next February. Andria had the joy of being an attendant in her friends wedding and we hope she enjoyed every minute of it.
During dessert (yummy strawberries and ice-cream and cheese-cake) we spent some time talking about what fundraisers we would like to pursue, especially once fall kicks in. We will be planning a Harvest Dinner, hopefully at White Meadows Farms out in Effingham, Pelham once again and we hope to organize a Tradeshow, showcasing many home businesses and cottage industry from the area. In due time we will have tickets available for our dinner and more information about the tradeshow - when, where and how to participate. Look for "EVENTS" on facebook!
For now, we will all be enjoy a bit slower pace of life as we head out on family vacations, enjoy camping or cottaging, travelling and take in the warmer temperatures and long day-light hours. Our next meeting will most likely take place in late Aug as we'll be planning our dinner (slated for September) in earnest.
