Last Meeting Before We Leave

" and they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere"  Luke 9:6

"why are we going on this mission trip?"

"what do we hope to accomplish?"

"how do we measure its success?"

"What do you hope for on this trip?"

All of these questions were asked of us at out meeting on Tuesday, not for us to answer immediately, but for us to ponder and take with us as we travelled and as we experienced our 10 days in Belize.  Great questions to ask and now we look forward to meeting the people of Belize and are excited about our mission while we are there. What do we hope to accomplish?  For some it might be to get far on the building project, for others it might be to lead someone to the Lord, for others it might be to share our love with the children and to let them know that God loves them, for others it might be to see a change in themselves?  Whatever we hope to accomplish, we know that we are going Trusting in God. We also know that "the body is not one part, but many" (1 corinthians 12) we are all individuals working together as one body to glorify God and serve the Lord.

We are also sharing mixed emotions as a team. We were informed at our meeting that two of our members are no longer making the trip with us, they are very sad about this and so are we. Hans and Hilda, we leave you with this verse: "Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word" (2 thess 2:16, 17) We will pray for you and for healing for your brother Louis. You are still part of our team, just doing your "part" from home.
