Day 38 and 39 - May 11 - 12

Thursday morning was an early one. Everyone was up by 5:30. Tired, hungry, and excited for the days events, we all got into the van for a 3 hour drive. We stopped about an hour in to get some breakfast. After everyone finished eating we continued our drive. After a long drive we made it to one of the best experiences on the trip, a hike. This wasn't your Sunday afternoon hike, this was up a mountain. A 3500 foot mountain. We were all excited for the climb. The path up the mountain was a steep one, it soon turned into a battle between you and whether or not your legs would fall off. After a 2.5 hour hike we all made it to the top. We were met with a stunning view of the mountainous terrain, farms, and towns that you could see for miles. We had some lunch before heading back down. On the way down, andrew, me, and our guide Frederiko ran down the mountain. Jake on the way up was diagnosed with the blister on his feet so he couldn't run down with us, and because he wasn't with us, he got lost in the jungle. I had to run back up the mountain and use my super tracking skills to find him. I found him pinned down by a hungry dinosaur. Just before the dinosaur chomped Jake's head off I punched so hard its head came off. Jake owes me again. After that very real experience we made it back down the mountain. We all got into the car once again and drove to a nearby river where we took a quick swim and rode the rapids. After we were all cooled off we continued our drive back home. We stopped at the same place we had breakfast for supper on the way back. When we got home we were all tired and exhausted and headed to bed pretty quickly.

Friday morning we all got to sleep in a bit. We were all up by 8:45. After breakfast we all got in the van and headed to the Renesser school where we did our presentation about Canada. The presentation consisted of Canada's geography, tourism, sports, and more. Everyone did a good job on it. After the presentation we headed back home and waited for when the grade 12's from Renesser came to visit. When they came some of us played card games, and a few of us played some basketball. After a while everyone went for a walk in the neighbourhood before supper. When we got back from the walk we had some burgers. The Renesser kids left shortly after supper. Everyone wasn't too tired so it was a later bedtime for everyone.
