Saturday morning we all woke up, everyone was ready for the new day and the adventures that would come with it. At 7:00 we all moseyed on over, one-by-one, to the dining hall where we were greeted with boiled eggs, toast, fresh fruit, and cooked salami. After breakfast and getting everything ready for the day, we all piled into the van. After a very short and very safe drive we finally made it, the grocery store! We were all so excited to experience what we were about to do. We got to pick out lunch and snacks for the day, it was overwhelming with how many things there were to choose from: rice and beans, chicken, or some soggy wraps. After everyone made the hardest decision they will ever make, we all once again piled into the van. After an obviously longer drive to our destination, we arrived at the waterfall once again. Mrs. Hosmar and Mrs. Dieleman hadn't seen the waterfall yet, of course, and since everyone enjoyed it last time, we decided we should go again and expose Mrs. Hosmar and Mrs. Dieleman to some more Dominican beauty. After the van was parked we had our soggy grocery store wraps and rice and chicken. Once we finished lunch we headed down to the very familiar waterfall. As soon as everyone got to the waterfall we all went our separate ways. There was a small group who stayed and swam at the base of the waterfall, and a few people went down river to explore. Me, Jake, and Andrew took our snorkels and explored some totally super duper massively huge underwater caves. They were so big we definitely got lost and just as we were running out of air, I led us out of the very real cave. Andrew was super scared, and Jake almost got eaten by a shark and I fought it off, but everyone turned out fine. Jake and Andrew now owe me big time. After that adventure we headed back to the group. Everyone relaxed and did their own thing until around 15:00 when we unfortunately had to leave. After we got back to the compound Wewe had rice, chicken, beans, and salad. We finished off the day going for a walk to get some ice cream. Pineapple.
Sunday morning we all got to sleep in a bit. We had fried eggs, toast, and fruit. At 10:00 we left for our next adventure: The gondolas. We once again piled into the van for a very quick drive to the subway station where we took the subway to the gondola station. We split into two groups and went onto the gondolas. They stretched out 5 km, so there and back was 10 km. It was a great way to see the city. We saw lots of things, like the architecture, transportation and the way people lived their lives. There was probably a pineapple too. After the gondolas we went out for lunch at the chicken place we went to a couple weeks ago. We then went back home to the compound and had some free time until 17:00 when we left for church. It was a very loud church, the loudest yet, even though it was about 50 people. We sang How Great is Our God, and the congregation joined in. When church finished it was almost 20:00. We had a very late supper, consisting of rice and beans. We finished the day off with some circle time.
My Grandma wants me to say hi, so, hi Grandma. (She's a pretty cool grandma btw).
