As i write these last blog entries, our team has already arrived safely home from a wonderful time in the DR. Sorry for the delay, but the last few days we were there the internet connection was almost non-existent.......
Today we went one last time to la Esperanza for a morning of work and then to spend some time in fellowship with the cooks and to say our goodbyes. We had our usual team of students with us. We did some more block laying and finished up whatever we could do in the time we were there. We also did some cleaning up of classrooms, and some more painting of doors. Some of the students started to try to fix the basketball hoop. We spent some time chatting with them about their experiences here and what they had seen and done. It`s been really great having them here with us. Lunch time came quickly and we enjoyed a feast with the students. Normally they bring their own lunches, but the cooks prepared extra today so we could share with them. After lunch the students left to go back to the mission centre to spend some group time together bonding. We spent some more time just hanging out. We also took some photos with the cooks and teachers, and said our thank yous and goodbyes. Then Daniel showed up and we took one last look around and then left for the mission centre to shower up and get ready to go to the market and out for supper. The market was an interesting place, very busy. After the market we went down to the ocean near where the pizza place is. We walked along the water and talked, and just sat and enjoyed the sight and sound of the huge waves crashing on the rocks. After a while we headed over to the Pizza place to enjoy a meal out together.
