Day 9

Hola!  I can`t believe today is already day 9 of our trip.  The time has gone by so slow and so fast at the same time, it`s wierd.  Today was an excellent day, filled with much excellent progress at la Esperanza as well as good fellowship.

Today we had mostly the same team, with most of the same students who worked with us yesterday.  It was great to get to know them a bit better and spend some more time with them.  They work very hard and it`s a great benefit to the progress of the school.   Today we started installing the windows and doors on the classrooms of the ground level.  Lauren and I started helping one of the local workers place the right windows in the right classrooms.  It was interesting trying to communicate with a Haitian who didn`t know any english.  Somehow with Lauren`s help we managed.  Then we had to make marks in the window frame for the places where the windows would be screwed into the wall.  The windows here are more like blinds, because they do not need glass windows. Today we went to Mario Matos' home for dinner and fellowship.  It felt good to be in a home again. He told us about the work he does for COCREF and also for a street mission, and how they bring hope and the gospel to the street people.  It was a great time of fellowship with believers here in the DR.
