Day 12

Today started off with a bumpy and slow ride to the job site. After yesterday's rain and some showers overnight, the road to Mwase was pretty slick. With quite a few bumps in the roads, at times quick glances behind were made to make sure we hadn't left parts of the bus behind! Once we got there it was a nice day for work; it was nice and cool for our last full day of work. Adam, David, and Justin D finally finished knocking the last of the parging off the walls as the rest of us finished helping parge the outside of the school up as high as we could reach. Lucky for us we had some highly experienced local workers to come along behind us and make it look good. After lunch Jerry and Fred went to the secondary school to observe a bunch of teachers taking part in a Teaching for Transformation course, which helps teachers integrate God into their lesson plans. On the way home the road was mostly blocked by a delivery truck, but as usual our amazing bus driver Jack somehow got us around the truck without getting stuck. We were thankful when we returned that the power was on and there was water for much needed showers. We closed the day with a Bible study on suffering, how through the difficult things we struggle with helps us grow in our faith and grow closer to God.

Hope 4
