After a few days at work, the team took some time to visit the sites of previous Hands Team's works in the Lundazi area. We visited the Hoya, Emusa Day, and Mphamba schools. The team learned a lot about how the schools are run, what their challenges are, and how they're looking to the future, including building new facilities as shown in the picture below.
The team has recently been challenged with some difficult conditions in the area since the power has been out for an extended period of time. This also means that there's no water. We've been working through it with flashlights, bottled water, and outdoor latrines and the general consensus is that it's a bit like camping. If there's sun tomorrow, we'll give my solar panels a try... but we'll also be praying for power.
