Traveling from Lilongwe, Malawi to Lundazi, Zambia is an experience filled with the richness of local culture, the beauty of the landscape, and the joy of shared fellowship. Our group embarked on this journey with hearts full of anticipation and gratitude, even as we left the comfort of our beds at 4:30 am.
The early morning departure found us tired but eager to witness the unfolding of God's creation as the sun slowly rose, painting the sky with hues of gold and pink. As we cruised along the highway, the peaceful morning air and the promise of a new day lifted our spirits.
Our first stop was a memorable one. We pulled over to the side of the highway for a delicious breakfast and a time of devotions. The simplicity of the meal, coupled with the serene surroundings, made it a truly blessed moment. We thanked God for providing us with sustenance and the opportunity to gather together in His name. Sharing scripture and prayer amidst the beauty of nature filled us with a profound sense of peace and unity.
As we continued our journey, we encountered an unexpected obstacle—a massive puddle that spanned the road ahead. But undeterred, we took a 1.5-hour detour on a less-traveled path. This detour, instead of being a setback, turned out to be an adventure in itself. We navigated through narrow roads, passing by quaint villages and witnessing the daily lives of the locals. It was a vivid reminder of the resilience and resourcefulness that God instills in people, allowing them to thrive in diverse environments.
Our border stop was surprisingly smooth. The process was quick and efficient, and we breezed through without any complications. Once again, we felt the Lord’s hand guiding us, ensuring our passage was free of troubles and delays. We also witnessed God's wonderful creation with the unxepected visit of a local owl that kept our attention wile we were waiting at the Zambia border.
The journey from the border to Lundazi was filled with fascinating sights and the vibrant local culture. We saw bustling markets where vendors sold everything from fresh produce to handcrafted goods. Children waved at us with bright smiles as we passed by, and we marveled at the traditional attire and the rhythm of life in this part of the world. Each scene was a testament to the rich diversity and beauty that God has created.
Upon arriving at the CCAP center in Lundazi, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and local community members. We eagerly unpacked the bus, our tiredness momentarily forgotten as we took a quick tour of the compound. The center was a bustling hub of activity, with lush gardens, well-kept buildings, and friendly faces everywhere. We soon settled in and enjoyed a wonderful dinner together, savoring the delicious food and the heartwarming fellowship. As the sun set, we joined the locals for an impromptu soccer match, our laughter and cheers echoing across the field. It was a perfect end to a day filled with adventure and blessings.
Thank you, Lord, for guiding us, protecting us, and blessing us with this incredible journey. May all our travels be a testament to Your grace and love.
