Looking for a way to unite your students around a meaningful cause? With EduDeo GO: School Edition, you can turn movement into mission!
Schools across Canada are walking, running, jumping, and playing to raise funds for the Lakou Campaign, creating safe spaces of learning and belonging for Dominico-Haitian students in the Dominican Republic.
Dunville Christian School students ran this fall in support of the Lakou campaign. Principal Nicole Van Huizen shared, “Dunnville Christian School is incredibly blessed by a supportive community that ensures our school flourishes because of the commitment to offering Christ centered education. As a school community, we want to be that kind of support and blessing for the communities that EduDeo partners with, so they are able to flourish.”
Each year students at Dunville learn about the impact their gifts have and spend time learning in their classes about the specific needs of communities around the world. It’s a great partnership that helps students think about what it means to be a good global neighbour.
Introducing Play it Forward ~ The Lakou Challenge, developed by Danielle Reid, EduDeo’s School & Church Relationship Manager.
Imagine transforming your schoolyard into a vibrant courtyard - a lakou, where students play, belong, and work together. Through station-based games, your students will experience how simple play builds deep connection and community, while raising funds to create real lakou spaces for Dominico-Haitian children.
Danielle explains:
“The idea is to combine movement with cultural connection. Students stay active while experiencing the concept of a lakou: playing together, building community, and sharing life. It’s a fun, purposeful way to raise funds and learn about a different culture at the same time.”

For many Dominico-Haitian children, education is out of reach due to poverty, discrimination, and overcrowded schools. The Lakou Campaign helps provide these students with access to classrooms where they can learn, belong, and flourish. Students are supported through Christ-centred education, school supplies, healthy lunches, and basic healthcare.
Danielle says: “God calls us to love our neighbour well. For me, being part of the Lakou Campaign means opening doors to Christ-centred education for children who otherwise wouldn’t have access. As a former teacher, I know how transformative education can be: especially Christian education.”
