Hello friends and family its Noah and Brendan,
Day two was a mix of triumph and larger triumph. Today we woke up and headed on the bus to Centro de Fe. Once we arrived, we received a very warm welcome from the students and teachers. After the students performed multiple traditional dances for us (Roy cried). Next we went into break time and got to meet with the students. We felt the spirit of God working through us in the room (Roy cried). Meeting the students was a very impactful experience because though there was a language barrier we were able to still form strong relationships with the students. Afterwards, we got some one on one time with the students of Centro de Fe. We shared about our lives and they shared about theirs. Next we had a scrumptious lunch with the students while doing our best to communicate.
Now comes the most important part of the day: The heavily anticipated match-up of Canada vs Nicaragua was on the horizon. We walked to a nearby park and the match started. (The following events may be stretched here or there, but we wrote this blog post so this is what followed from our perspective). The match started and before we knew it we were 3-0 up. Meanwhile on the other end Brendan was making superhuman saves that no one else on this trip has the capabilities of even thinking of. We did in fact win 7-3 and Noah had 6 goals and also one assist because he also a good passer of the ball. And the team had lock down defense. ACS was victorious for the first time in 15 years due to incredible coaching talent from Koen Beugelink. We also enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball, and others.
After a long day, it was time for goodbyes and a trip back. We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner and had a history lesson from Steve Holtrop about Nicaragua. We ended the day with devotions by Kailyn and Carrera. (Roy cried).
PS. Mrs. H Your baby boy enjoyed the comments and so did we!

What an amazing day of welcoming, connecting, learning, celebrating, and seeing how little it takes to make Roy cry! We all love him for it of course. Alison, that pic of you with the butterfly is adorbs... yep, I say cool things like adorbs sometimes. The photo of Koen mid-air is pretty sick too, although learning that he has an innie was not on my list of things I needed to know. Congrats to Noah and Brenden who clearly carried the team to victory, with the help of their talented coach! Also, kudos to the brilliant mind who decided to post a direct link to this blog at the end of the daily Instagram stories!! I think there are already more comments on these 2 days than there was for the whole trip last year, which I'm sure is super fun for you guys! So now begs the question, do I comment EVERY DAY or is that too much? I'm sure Marshall has an opinion equal to mine which is: OF COURSE YOU SHOULD COMMENT EVERY DAY, MOM, AND WRITE A LOT! We're so in sync like that ;). Marshall is absolutely shaking his head right now which means I'm nailing this. Covering you all in prayer and hope your Cultural Day today was amazing!
