Oodles and Oodles of Fun!

Greetings and Salutations

Today began much like any other day. We got up, got ready, went to Ruth and Mario’s for breakfast, and then went to school. However, today was Tuesday. And every Tuesday at the school they have a chapel.

This week, Ruth asked Reverend Hoogland to lead the chapel, and in addition to his message, he and Kyle also wowed the kids with a demonstration on ‘How the Canadians Dress for Winter’. I think it is safe to say that everyone, including the adults, loved it.

We had a bit of a scare today. Nathan was mudding the ceiling and his scaffolding broke! Luckily he noticed right before it happened and was able to jump of just in time. Amelia was incredibly thankful that she was on break at this point, because we all doubt that she would have been able to escape. That could have been a catastrophe.

We have been developing a new motto for our trip. ‘Work hard, play harder.’ We have been frequently checking our watches, eagerly awaiting 2:30. It is then that the younger classes get out of school. For some of us, work is dropped as we rush of to play with the kids. They are beginning to expect it, and if they don’t see us come out right away they can be found wandering the halls shouting our names. It is absolutely precious.

We would like to ask that in addition to your prayers for us you will also pray for Belize City. There has been a drastic increase in crime over the past couple of days.
With love,
Hands Team
