Lamanai

Today was our teams designated "Fun Day". Ruth and Mario arranged for us to take a boat up New River to the Mayan site "Lamanai". Our boat ride took about 2 hours, making frequent stops to see anything from crocodiles to monkeys to bats. Andrew and Amelia were both quite excited when they got to feed bananas to a spider monkey!

We all thought the day was hot, but we didn't reealize how hot until we began climbing the temples.  Many of us made it to the top the High Temple, which, true to it's name, was the highest.  It didn't seem to scary at first, but the higher we got, the scarier it seemed! And then we had to climb down!! the craziest of us (Kyle and Nathan) did it twice!  However the view was definately worth it...Its not every day you get to stand eleven stories up with no railings or windows to hinder your view!

The day was definately an adventure.

Again, we would like to ask you to keep Belize City in your prayers

Love from

The Hands Team
