We Made It!

Good evening everyone!

I'm blogging from Belize right now.  This is a good sign, it means we've made it safely.  The day wasn't without its surprises, however.  We had a little bit of trouble at Miami airport when arriving - the tunnel wouldn't move into place when we arrived, so we needed to move to a new gate.  In addition, the airline lost one luggage bag.  We're all hoping that it turns up in good time.

We met our contacts for the trip, Ruth and Mario.  Ruth is the principal of New Life Christian School.  Mario, her husband, works as the handyman and chaplain at the Presbyterian church which operates out of the school building.  We're grateful for their hospitality towards us and look forward to spending the next ten days getting to know Ruth and Mario, as well as working with them at the school.  It's easy to tell that they've got a passion for the work that New Life does in the community.

Tonight, we're spending time in fellowship with each other.  Tomorrow, we start working at New Life.  At this point it's a mystery how we'll work together as a team, but we trust that God is working through each of us.  After all, He has blessed us all with gifts to better His kingdom.

Until tomorrow, we send our blessings from Belize!
