Work and Play

Our morning drive started out damp and wet; but we made it safe and sound to the school with some creative and rather “bumpy” driving!! The sun tried to peak through in the morning and gave us the opportunity to do a bunch more brick laying, mortar mixing etc... And the morning was filled with much laughter, playful fun and a “supervisor” who kept leaving his supervising duties!! A bit before lunch; the heavens opened and it started to pour rain which gave us the opportunity to visit the library at the school and have warm/encouraging conversation with CCAP staff!! Today, Philemon worked with us at the school and it was such a blessing to catch-up and talk with a brother in the Lord!!

In the mid-afternoon the rain stopped and the “much anticipated” Canada versus Zambia soccer game was played!! There was teachers and some kids from the school on the Zambia team, but it didn’t take long for them to realize that the Canadian team was in desperate need for some Zambian soccer talent!! In the end, the score was 3-6 ( I think) but all our goals were scored by our Zambian soccer playmates!! On the way home we stopped at an open market and had live entertainment with two live chickens fighting underneath the bench in our Jeep!!
