Greetings from Zambia! Work on ‘the wall’ is progressing quite well with lots of enthusiastic workers and spectators. But I don’t think we will be looking for a job building a wall for our southern neighbours any time soon!
It’s hot during the day with lots of rain during the night making a long commute to and from Chasefu. We also had heavy rain on the way home from Hoya today. Adam braved a down pour to fix a broken wiper blade which resulted in a soak to the core. Collins, our driver, wore a touque that resembled a monkey’s head. He said it had internal air con and helped him stay cool in 30+C weather. Everyone had a big laugh.
We finished work early today to visit the Hoya primary and secondary schools. Earlier HANDS teams worked on the water system and building construction. We toured the school and sat in on a biology class there. It is a great pleasure to see how smart these kids are emphasizes how important a gospel-centred education is. We also presented the primary school with a soccer ball. The children and adults are always super excited to see us with lots of interaction and language practise.
