The long , long road to Chasefu

The long and winding  road to Chasefu was filled with potholes and washouts but we scarcely noticed because there were so many sights to see along the way!

We can’t think of anything to compare it to at home, but it was rough !!

So today was the first day at the project site and what a day it was . The community came together to welcome us to the school, building project with an opening ceremony. They sang and danced and we sang and danced along with them as best we could . Gifts where exchanged and welcomed between the team and the community. We received a goat probably travelling home as someones flying support animal .

After lunch work started with introductions between all the team members and  workers . Instruction on brick laying and mortar mixing where given ... and so it began!

We figured out how to lay bricks again and how to mix daka also.

We give thanks for our awesome cooks ! Dorthy and Cristobel !
