We'll Miss You, Lesther.

Today at EduDeo Ministries, we’re remembering the life of Lesther Gonzales, EduDeo’s long-time staff member in Nicaragua. Lesther passed away on December 7, 2021 from complications after contracting COVID-19.

If you met Lesther over the last number of years, we’re sure you haven’t forgotten him. Lesther hosted HANDS teams and served as a construction coordinator in Nicaragua. He brought joy to every student, school, team member, and worker he met. He was incredibly hospitable, making people feel immediately welcome in Nicaragua and bringing so much friendship to the teams who served there.

Lesther was known for his deep love for people, and his compassion and heart for the vulnerable won’t soon be forgotten.

Lesther leaves behind his wife, Zoila, and two children, Carlos and Isabella, as well as other close family members and friends. Please join with us in praying for them as they grieve this incredible loss.

Each person who met Lesther walked away with a special story and memory from their time together. If you knew or remember Lesther, please send us your story, memory, photo, or message to his family. We will be compiling these reflections & photos into a memory book for Lesther’s family. If you would like to contribute, please email us at marketing@edudeo.com by December 22.

As we look back on Lesther’s life and impact, we’re sharing this video from 2017. It was originally created to share with Nicaraguan HANDS teams, but perfectly captures the Lesther we know and love so well.

We’ll miss you, Lesther, and look forward to our joyful reunion in heaven.
