Day 6: Bricks, Bricks, and Bricks.... And Kids!

Hola Canada!

As the title says, today was a day of more bricks. We arrived at the school ready for another good day’s work and servant hearts but found as the morning progressed our servant muscles were starting to get tired.

Luckily God was gracious, and whether it be some shade, wind, or the random singing of Christmas carols, the team was united in keeping the work going, even if our muscles were getting fatigued.

Once the afternoon approached, playing with the kids seemed to slowly take precedence, and most of us felt that the afternoon flew by as we started engaging with the children in the fullest capacity. There were potatoes sack races, many children’s games, many photos, tickling, piggy back rides, and tons of more shenanigans. The teachers seemed to be losing kids all the time as they swarmed us all afternoon to play.

Once our work day was complete, we came back to the camp, all enjoyed some relaxation and alone time, followed by our regular evening routine of supper, worship, and sharing.

Tomorrow will mark the last day at Pena de Horeb school, something that is nice in a way (as our muscles are all screaming for a break) but sad in many other ways as we bid farewell to the kids, teachers, and workers.

God blessings to all of you,
