3,100 Bibles and Counting: The Global Impact of Your Generosity

Through an incredible partnership with ShareWord Global (formerly Gideons), EduDeo Ministries recently facilitated the distribution of Bibles to over 3,100 students across Malawi, Uganda, Nicaragua and Zambia. It is exciting to celebrate this statistic, but what has touched our hearts even more has been the recipient stories you made possible.  

In the Lundazi district of Zambia, EduDeo’s partner distributed Bibles to targeted grades.  The plan was for students to receive a Bible at their elementary graduation and for additional distributions to reach students as they move up through the grades. Local teams presented students with their very own copies of God’s Word. These Bibles serve an essential dual purpose: helping students excel academically while simultaneously serving as spiritual food to transform their character.  

Bryson, a Grade 9 student at Hoya Secondary School had very little interest in reading Scripture—primarily because he had never owned a Bible of his own. The Word felt distant and inaccessible. "I used to think that the Bible was too hard to read and understand, but now I enjoy reading the Bible every evening," Bryson shared with his teacher. 

The clear, simple language of the version he received sparked a sudden and deep curiosity in Bryson. Reading every night, he reports that the Bible’s teachings have helped him navigate difficult social pressures and make positive personal choices his teacher noted.  

Stanley from Mphamba Secondary School is also experiencing a shift in his daily life. For Stanley, owning a personal Bible has sparked a desire for truth. He now uses his Bible to actively verify claims he hears rather than following statements blindly, a habit he proudly plans to take with him long after graduation. 

When Bibles are so limited in a community, a distribution like this also has a ripple effect in the communities.  Because the Bibles are personal copies whole families are blessed by having a copy in their homes.   

Bible distributions have profound spiritual impact and benefit academic learning. Local educators note that classroom teaching has become profoundly interactive now that students have books.  Teachers also had to share limited copies of God’s Word and so this project also blessed their ability to read and teach God’s word. 

Learning and Growing Alongside Our Partners 

As with any project, this initiative has been a powerful opportunity for growth. Because we are deeply committed to listening to and learning from our global partners, we closely monitor how these projects unfold on the ground.  

While focusing on specific middle school grades allowed us to target milestone celebrations, our partners shared a bittersweet reality: many students in the lower grades were deeply disappointed when they didn't receive a Bible. Witnessing their peers walk away with the gift of Scripture left them longing for their own.  

We have taken this lesson to heart. In the coming year, our strategy will pivot entirely. Instead of focusing only on specific grade levels, we will transition to equipping full schools all at once. This ensures that no child feels left behind and that entire school communities can step into Biblical literacy together. It is our intention for our 2026-27 fiscal year to send 60,000 Bibles to our partner in Zambia. 

Beyond Zambia, this joint initiative continues to bear fruit. In Malawi, 700 Bibles were delivered to eight secondary schools, inspiring the launch of discipleship "Spark clubs". In Uganda, 1,500 Bibles reached 29 schools just before final exams, bringing timely encouragement to students who previously relied on just one Bible per classroom.  

Every Bible placed in a student's hands represents a tool that empowers them to share Christ’s love with their families, neighbors, and peers. Thank you for stepping into these classrooms with us, growing with us, and turning educational milestones into lifelong spiritual celebrations.
