I am a student at the Center for Empowerment and Enterprise Development (CEED) in Ghana and I’m learning to sew. I’m excited to have a way to support my family in the future. During a recent devotion, my teacher encouraged my classmates and I to look beyond our classroom and identify a pressing need in our community.

I noticed something: many children in my town were carrying their school supplies in old rice sacks and flimsy plastic bags. When I shared this with my classmates, we began using leftover fabric scraps and began stitching sturdy, colorful school bags.
As we distributed the bags, the schoolyard filled with laughter. Seeing the children’s eyes light up as they replaced their makeshift carriers with our vibrant bags was a moment I will never forget.
The bursaries that support my training at CEED allow me to help others in my community. Thank you for investing in my education.
