Beauty from Ashes: Easter Prayers for Transformation

Easter is the ultimate story of transformation. It is the profound movement from silence to song, from the gravity of the tomb to the glory of the resurrection. At EduDeo, we see this "Easter rhythm" echoing throughout our global partnerships—the persistent belief that even in the face of hardship, God is tirelessly at work making all things new. 

This quarter, our partners have shared prayer requests that reflect the now-and-not-yet part of our faith. They remind us that transformation is rarely easy, but it is always hopeful.  Here are their prayer requests this Easter. 

For Comfort and Healing 

• Indonesia: This community has students struggling with thoughts of hopelessness.  Pray that the God of all comfort would help the teachers to share the joy of Christ and for all students to be able to see hope in their circumstances.   

• Haiti: Intercede for the safety of those in the communes of Blockhaus and Baradères, where blocked roads and communication issues make ministry difficult. 

• Guatemala: Pray for peace in communities where violence has increased, and for the wisdom of school leaders as they navigate difficulties in hiring teachers due to pay disparities. 

For Provision and Infrastructure 

• Zambia: Pray for the provision of clean water at several schools (Kaponga, Mwase, Mphamba, and Chijemu) and for the resources to fix the blown-off roof at Boyole Combined School. 

• Malawi: Ask for God’s provision so that essential teacher trainings can continue. 

• Ethiopia: Pray for the success of upcoming final examinations and the in-person training scheduled for April with Canadian guests. 

• Ghana: Pray for the successful construction of the new kindergarten project. 

• Uganda: This partner is going through an evaluation this spring. Pray that the process may be mutually encouraging and constructive.    

For Guidance and Protection 

• Dominican Republic: Pray for the "Educational Accompaniment" process—that as school leaders visit classrooms to mentor and support teachers, it would not be seen as a burden of "performance," but as a beautiful opportunity to strengthen their shared mission of shaping students' lives for Christ. 

• Burkina Faso: Our partners are operating in a "red zone" of high national insecurity. While they are eager to welcome international instructors for Walking Together training, safety concerns currently prevent travel. We also lift up the significant administrative requirements from the government, which can delay the receipt of essential ministry funds. 

• Nicaragua: Pray for the Nehemiah Center in Managua as they undergo essential renovations to better host teachers and pastors. Pray also for the ongoing construction of a new classroom and office at El Shaddai Community School. 

• Rwanda: Give thanks for the first "Caring for Students" workshop held. Pray for the board of Christian Schools Rwanda as they await the finalization of their certificate of incorporation from the government and the approval of their five-year Strategic Plan. 

• Belize: Pray for teachers as they balance government initiatives with the call to teach the curriculum with a "deep hope." 

For EduDeo Staff 

• We ask for prayer that God would unite and equip EduDeo staff as we aim to lead boldly, steward well, and walk alongside our global partners. May all our efforts help Christ‑centred education bring transformation and flourishing to communities around the world. 

This Easter, we celebrate that the story doesn't end at the tomb. Whether it is through a new kindergarten project in Ghana or teachers learning new strategies in Belize, transformation is happening. Because He is risen, we work with deep hope.
