Good Neighbours are the Heartbeat of a Community

Your faithful generosity supports schools that are transforming communities for Jesus

We are a family of educators. My wife Lydia and I both teach, and we've seen the wonderful benefits that education can have on young minds. It is a great responsibility that we take seriously, and we see EduDeo doing the same alongside their international partners.  

A few years ago, our family felt compelled to support EduDeo on a monthly basis because we had already been supporting them every year with one-time gifts.  We thought, "Why not turn the one-time gift into a monthly gift so that EduDeo can count on the funds every month to help with their long-term support of schools, students, and teachers?" We recognize it is easier for ministries like EduDeo to plan for future programming if they can count on their supporters to provide regular ongoing support throughout the year.

We like the values that are associated with The Neighbourhood, EduDeo’s monthly giving program. Who doesn’t want to be a part of a neighbourhood? It reminds our family of the idea of ubuntu, an African aphorism that states, "I am who I am because of who we are together."  

For us, moving from a single gift to monthly gift has been like subscribing to one of our favourite ministries.  We subscribe to Netflix, Amazon, and Calm because of the incredible value they provide. Why wouldn't we do that for the charities that we love? We're going to give this amount anyways, so we decided to provide it in a way that enables EduDeo to consistently work alongside its international partners.  

The hope we have for our children through education has been realized because of the faithful support of generations who have gone before us. We can participate in that multi-generational support for schools around the world so that young minds come to know Christ and their purpose in His story. This is a "pay-it-forward" moment.  We have received so much, and it is good for us to send it forward, here in Canada and around the world.
