Sugar beets, canola and rubber boots

Fundraising has started! Farmers are asking us to "rogue their fields." This means walking up and down the fields several rows at a time pulling out stray plants. Last week we were walking through a sugar beet field pulling out canola plants.  This is easier to do when the ground is soft after the ground has been irrigated either through rain or pivot water.  Too soon after and it's sloppy to walk through. Too long after and the ground is hard making it more difficult to pull the canola plants out. As you can see by the photos, there is some serious land to cover!!  It's a good opportunity to talk and visit or listen to other teammates joking back and forth.
