The Promise Keepers Belize HANDS Team plans to work on Unity Christian School.
Begun in 2007 as a pre-school, this school has grown to serve over 200 students in pre-school through Grade 8. Managed by Pastor Ernest Betson and his wife, Carolyn, this school is strategically located in an area that desperately needed a quality, Christian school.
The current construction project for this school is to complete the 2nd storey of classrooms. Multiple teams will participate in tasks ranging from mixing cement, carrying and laying concrete blocks, plastering walls, installing windows and doors, and completing the electrical grid.
This school is making a difference in hearts and minds of children and their families. When intially surveryed, the surrounding community was found to place a very low priority on their children receiving an education. Thanks to the Betson's committment and those who work at and support this school, those perceptions are changing and children are being nourished in every way - physically, mentally and spiritually!
