It was back to the school site at 8 am today and all hands were on deck.
By about 7 pm last night Thomas had fully recovered and maintained a 45 minute debate about paralysis during REM sleep at bedtime which was evidence that he had recovered from "running at the the back" as our friend Billy called it.
Today all the materials we needed were on site so we broke up into 2 teams. Half of the team built rebar columns using the bended rebar rectangles that Brendan and Will had crafted on Friday. This involved positioning the rebar very carefully and then wiring together all the joints. By days end the goal had been reached. The other team was busy working on the second level of the wing forming for a concrete ceiling/floor pour. Hot work but a good challenge for the team and they were up to it. In between Billy entertained us all with Spanish lessons, and lively banter, and once in a while helped bridge a communication gap.
By 430 pm we left the site and headed back. There were a few red shoulders and backs and Mallory seemed a little whipped by the sun...nothing a good siesta wouldn't cure. Devos are at 8 tonite then maybe a team game of some sort and then off to bed because the alarm rings at 630 am. We have only 2 more work days left to accomplish our building goals as Thursday is a cultural day when we will visit schools and interact with/entertain the kids.
Wishing everyone a good night back home from the team.
