Currently on airplane Addis Abba bound!

4:30 am mst

During the night it poured at the Croc Valley Lodge where the team was staying. Given the challenges we had getting into the valley, we knew that didn’t portend anything positive for our exit. In the end, the decision was made that the only way to back to the main road was to walk and carry our luggage over one kilometre through the mud. Some braved it in shoes, others in flip flops- but by the end most had to kick it into “4x4” aka bare feet. Eventually we made it back to the road relatively unscathed. What an adventure!

Luckily, once the lodge staff brought us back to the vehicles (that were stranded on the other side of the washed out bridge) we noticed they were still there with all of the wheels attached.  Moffat did an excellent job of driving the LandCruiser without any brakes and with Reverend Nehemiah following closely behind we arrived safely in Chipata. We celebrated with pizza for lunch again! Then loaded the bus to continue our journey to Lusaka. We chatted about the trip, did devotions on the bus, and ate yummy roadside bananas.
