Teacher Training in Indonesia

Teacher Training in Indonesia

By EduDeo Ministries

Indonesia is one of the most heavily populated countries in the world, boasting well over 280 million people. But less than 12% of the population are Christians.

But that doesn’t stop teachers like Vera and Alfan from making Christ the centre of their classrooms. Their students feel the difference every single day, thanks to kind and caring people like you.

Your support made it possible for Vera, a high school chemistry teacher, to attend our Walking Together teacher training, which helped her learn how to weave God’s story into her lessons.

“The students are happy,” she shares. “They realize science lessons can be more than just science – they can relate to religion, social studies, and more.”

Teachers like Vera (left) and Alfan (right) attend workshops where they learn how to bring Jesus into their lessons.

Alfan, a principal at a skills and trades-focused high school, has also seen the transformative power of these workshops. His school, focused on agriculture and fisheries, now grounds its curriculum in Christ. Students are learning how to farm with a deeper understanding of their role in God’s creation.

Through workshops, more and more Christian teachers in Indonesia are learning how to bring Jesus into their classrooms. As a result, students are graduating with not only practical skills but also a strong faith in Jesus.

The teachers’ goal is clear. Alfan says, “Whether in work, further studies, or community life, we want [our students] to glorify God’s name.”
