For years, Katondo Primary School in Zambia struggled with limited resources. They relied on volunteer teachers without any government support. But they had a dream to add more classrooms and make room for more students — they just didn’t have the resources.
With the help of people like you, children have a place to grow and shape their futures in this community.
When Katondo invited Co-Impact teams to join in the construction project, it became a turning point for the community. Beyond building, the teams offered support and encouragement, inspiring locals to unite around the school’s expansion. Their collaboration doubled the number of classrooms, creating new opportunities for the students at the school.
This growth has opened doors to new opportunities. Now that they finally have more classrooms, the school can access government funding and now is able to begin hiring certified teachers! It has come a long way toward elevating the quality of education for its 248 students.
More than that, Katondo Primary has evolved into a hub for its community. Its impact extends far beyond education.
Evariso Kaluba, the principal at this growing school, sees the true long-term effect of this project. He shared, “The project holds the future of our children… [it] belongs to them.”
Katondo Primary School isn’t just building classrooms — it’s building a community. And you are a treasured part of that!
