In Loving Memory of Sheila Dykstra

In Loving Memory of Sheila Dykstra

By

With sorrow, we share that Sheila Dykstra – a beloved member of the EduDeo staff – passed away in the early morning hours of Friday December 8th, 2023.

Sheila served as a Walking Together Co-Leader at EduDeo Ministries, where she fostered and thrived in relationships with our international partners. Together, they dreamed about what Christ-centred education could look like around the world. She believed that strong, Gospel-rooted education could be absolutely transformational for children, and she worked for over 20 years to advocate for and train up leaders in Christian education around the world. Outside of her work, Sheila was a devoted member of her local church, opened her home for newcomers to Canada, and developed relationships with a broad global family.

As a staff, we are shattered by this news. We glorify God for Sheila - for her warm heart, her joyful smile, and her welcoming presence. Her legacy lives on in each teacher, leader, student, and friend she poured into.

Please join us in holding Sheila’s husband, Jonathan, and her entire family and community in prayer. Please also pray for the EduDeo staff, our international partners, and volunteers who loved Sheila deeply.

"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV).

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." (Rev. 21:4 NIV)
