New Life Presbyterian School is an important pillar of academic growth and spiritual formation in the community of Orange Walk, Belize. However, the integrity of the building is now facing a critical challenge. The current roof structure has deteriorated severely, to resolve this and ensure the building remains functional, the roof needs replaced.
A school building is more than just a place of learning; it is a vital community asset. In times of crisis, severe weather, or natural disasters, structurally secure buildings like ours often serve as safe havens and essential meeting grounds for the wider community. By securing the roof of New Life Presbyterian School, you are not only furthering Christ-centred education locally but you are also creating a sanctuary that speaks to the love of God in the wider community.
Here are several stages of construction needed to repair this leaky roof.
Safety Preparations: Safely disconnecting and removing electrical wiring in the affected rooms.
Structural Demolition: Tearing out the old, rotten sheetrock ceilings to safely access the roof framework.
Roof Reconstruction: Replacing compromised purlins with stronger structural supports and swapping out the old, rotten zinc sheets with brand-new roofing.
Final Restoration: Reinstalling the electrical wiring and replacing the sheetrock ceiling to completely restore the classrooms.
The local community is organizing to raise $5,000 from the local community. But they need your help to make this project a reality.
