Day One

Hi Everyone, 

We have arrived safely, after a rough flight from Houston to Managua.  Peter, Trudy and Gary Verburg were at the airport  to greet us.  After all our luggage was crammed into the van, and buckets were distributed for seating we were off to the Nehemiah center.  Once we safely arrived at the center w were given our rooms and soon went to bed. 

Up bright and early this morning to a wonderful breakfast and then off to Diriambia, first stop here to drop off our luggage where we are staying at Coco and Jimmy's. Then off to see the school, and go to WORK. After introductions from the Nicaraguans workers and school staff we all found our jobs. The guys all started out this day by pouring concrete and filling the columns that have been dug over the last week.  They worked hard!  it was a true labor of love. The ladies painted and sanded ALL day, and that's what we'll be doing the whole time.  We saw the pile this morning and didnt think it was that many but we've decided now it is.  so. paint paint paint.  We have had tons of fun, and it has definitely been a learning experience so far. After lunch today some of us were sitting on the street, and ya it's an eye opener,  along came a herd of goats, they stopped just passed us by someone's door. Next thing we know here comes the "goat master" and he let them into the house!     We had party tonight for Trudy's 60 th birthday, Lester and Felix and Pinn came as well, And the next door neighbors too - Marg & Jake. SO good to see them!  It will be such fun to spend time with them, Peter & Trudy  Such a blessing for us all to have some "locals" here!   Pray for us here  as we do our work and experience a Nicaraguan work week!
