It is Thursday already, day 3 of working at The Divino Salvador School. It is so neat to see the progress after only three days. We have become quite a team alongside the local workers. Today the last of 12 holes were dug, Rob is very thankful, as we all are! We were preparing the second floor for concrete to be poured next week. There is still lots of painting to be done as well. We enjoyed listening to a group of students singing "These are the Days of Elijah" in Spanish, as we were painting outside their window. Amazing to recognize the tune and sing along in our native tongue! While a bunch of us were painting, we sang Christmas songs, one being "O Holy Night." A teacher from the school asked us to write the words down for her. It was beautiful that we could sing altogether in English. One of our team members, Gail, spent the day at Treasures of God, a day program for special needs children. Gail did physio as well as play with the children. She mentioned that little girls giggle the same way in Spanish as in English! It was a real blessing to her and for us to hear how it impacted her. We also said goodbye to Travis, who worked alongside us welding at the school. He is returning home to Alberta.
We are thankful for another safe day at the job site, and are so thankful to the Lord for this opportunity to be able to fellowship with Christians here in Nicaragua!
