Gaining Momentum

The Georgetown CRC Belize 2014 team has recently been finalized after some intense weeks gathering information, confirming the duration of and recruiting members for this serving opportunity. Although circumstances prevented us from moving forward late last year, we went from no team to a full team in about 10 days in mid-March. I am so pleased to be working with this enthusiastic group of students and young adults along with our youth pastor.

Currently we are working on a variety of fundraisers to offset the costs for each member as well as bless the community in Concepcion, Belize that we will be serving. We have watched some video footage about the country of Belize to gain a little understanding of this tropical country and its peoples. Some of us are serving in this manner for the first time, others have quite a few trips behind them already.

Our flights have been booked - we leave Toronto on June 26 and plan to return on July 3. We are finalizing passports and insurance and security clearances. And for most of the team this is in the midst of final semesters and exams. So we ask for your prayers for our plans and preparations as we seek to serve our risen Saviour amongst our Belizean friends of Concepcion.
