CCAP

Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP)

Region: Southern Africa (Zambia)
Partner Since: 2011

Mission:

To provide quality transformative Christian education to teachers and learners for spiritual, moral, social and economic development in partnership with other stakeholders.

About CCAP:

CCAP Synod of Zambia was formed in 1984 as a series of mission churches. Since then, they have grown to over 83 congregations and 75,000 members. With a vision for holistic community development, CCAP works in a variety of areas such as education, health, and evangelism. Through their work in education, CCAP has a desire to see their Zambian communities empowered to break the cycles of poverty. They believe quality, Christ-centred education can truly transform students lives and their communities as a whole. For when students are raised up in the way of Christ, they give back to help those in need.

Our Shared Ministry

TEACHER TRAINING

Teachers are at the heart of education, so we always invest in them. Together, we provide workshops for CCAP teachers & leaders on topics such as incorporating the Gospel into specific subjects, Christ-like leadership, Teaching for Transformation framework, and more.

SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION

We partner to create vibrant, thriving spaces at CCAP schools. Projects like building science & technology labs, rehabilitating old classrooms, and providing on-campus dorms all ensure schools continue to have the safe, sufficient space they need to be beacons of hope in their communities.

STUDENT SUPPORT

Christ-centred education should be accessible for all children and families, no matter their situation. Supports like tuition bursaries, trades training programs, and mobility aides for students with physical disabilities ensure students have a holistic yet always accessible education.

“I have seen the hand of God working in my life through education. I don't know how to thank CCAP for helping me with school fees, only God knows how to bless them for me. I am confident I will complete my secondary education with their help. To me, this will be my greatest achievement because I never imagined I would reach this far. My greatest responsibility as at now is to study hard so that I complete my secondary school education and see what the future holds for me.”

– Martha, student, Zambia

"Not only did I gain knowledge, but my faith and spiritual life have grown because of what was unveiled to me in the course. My way of thinking about my [purpose] as a teacher has totally changed: I now see myself as a transformation agent of my students through education, by teaching from the heart to the heart, thereby leading them to God’s kingdom."

– Esther, teacher, Zambia

"The help given to me by CCAP (EduDeo’s partner) is really a liberation because my family would not afford to pay my school fees and I would have ended up being like other children who dropped out of school. To the CCAP Education Department, continue with the good work. The Lord Almighty should bless you more and more so that you can reach to more pupils who are facing the same difficulties as myself. With love from Zambia, continue helping me and the friends in need."

– Moses, student, Zambia
