Ethiopia Emmanuel United Church (EEUC)

Region: Eastern Africa (Ethiopia)
Partner Since: 2016

Mission:

To expand the Kingdom of God that will not be prevailed by the gates of Hell through finding the lost, serving the poor, and spreading the Gospel utilizing local churches in Ethiopia and beyond.

About EEUC:

Born out of the Ethiopian Coptic tradition, EEUC is now a family of 680 local churches and over 544,000 members across the country. Through church planting, making disciples, and establishing Christian schools, EEUC looks to prepare its members for Christ-like service and fellowship in their communities. EEUC's long-term goal is for each of their local churches to start a school, so as to holistically raise up the next generation.

Our Shared Ministry

TEACHER TRAINING

Teachers are at the heart of education, so we always invest in them. Together, we provide workshops and mentoring for EEUC teachers & leaders in areas such as strengthening a vision for Christ-centred education, Christ-like leadership, and incorporating the Gospel into specific subjects.

SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION

We partner to create vibrant, thriving spaces at EEUC schools. Projects like building new classrooms and dining halls ensure schools continue to have the safe, sufficient space they need to be beacons of hope in their communities.

STUDENT SUPPORT

Christ-centred education at EEUC schools should be accessible for all children and families, no matter their situation. Supports like tuition bursaries and out-of-school camps provide students with a holistic yet always accessible education.

Biniyam's mother worked hard to take care of her family. But recently, she became sick and couldn't work anymore. This meant she wasn't able to pay for Biniyam to go to school. The church in her community stepped up to pay for part of the cost, but it wasn't quite enough. Now, thanks to a bursary, Biniyam can go to school and him mom doesn't have to worry anymore. She said, "I have seen hope for my child."

– Binyam, student, Ethiopia

You’re an important part of making change happen here in Ethiopia! Schools are consistently facing the threat of being shut down if they are not able to provide enough space for their students. Building classrooms and dining halls and providing bursaries are urgently needed to give students more space and ensure we can continue transforming lives with Christ-centred education.
