To encourage, support and develop leaders and organizations committed to the social and spiritual transformation of their communities.
Beginning as COCREF, a family of schools across the Dominican Republic, Sinergia has grown to expand its work. Investing in quality education, healthy churches, community development, and strong leadership, Sinergia is committed to the social and spiritual renewal of individuals and communities. They come alongside individuals and organizations to move from good intentions to effective results and greater impact. They provide opportunities for leadership development, organizational capacity building, and access to resources for joint initiatives.
Teachers are at the heart of education, so we always invest in them. Together, we provide workshops and mentoring for Sinergia teachers & leaders in areas such as restorative practices, curriculum development, Christ-like leadership, strategic planning, and more.
We partner to create vibrant, thriving spaces at Sinergia schools. Projects like building new classrooms, offices, and technology labs ensure schools continue to have the safe, sufficient space they need to be beacons of hope in their communities.
Christ-centred education at Sinergia schools should be accessible for all children and families, no matter their situation. Supports like tuition bursaries, on-campus medical clinics, and technology in the classroom provide kids with a holistic yet always accessible education.
Working with 382 teachers and leaders to mentor, encourage, and empower them in their calling.
Working with 16 schools, ensuring students have enough safe space to learn about Christ.
Working to ensure over 4,181 children attend a Christ-centred school, learning to be agents of transformation in their communities.
"We believe investing in Christ-centred education is the best way to not just alleviate poverty, but also to equip those we regard as poor to become agents of their own transformation. Regardless of what you do, we are all together in the work of transformation. So thank you for allowing us to do this work. Thank you for investing in us and trusting in us. And we hope that you can join in the celebration of so many lives that have been transformed through Christ-centred education."
– Mario, leader, Dominican Republic
"It was very bad for us financially when the pandemic started and I lost another school year because we had to move for not being able to pay for the rent. So far we are not doing so well with our economy but we have been able to face it as a family. I feel very grateful with Filadelfia School for accepting me and helping me despite of everything and for shaping me as the person I am today."
– Isnaida, student, Dominican Republic
"I would like to expand Espacio de Gracio School. Right now we are the only school that focusses on learning disabilities, and we would like for every community to have a school like this. I would like to see my students become professionals. When I see them all grown up, I want to say, ‘they were one of my students.’ I would like to see them becoming doctors and lawyers because they had a good foundation of education."
– Maria Laura, principal, Dominican Republic
