Due to the big snow storm in New York, our original flights were cancelled. At the end of that very stressful afternoon, we had secured flights for 8 of us on Wednesday and 8 at a terribly early hour on Thursday. So while some of us got to do our first volunteer day at the school, the others were boarding planes at 4:30 am and then sitting around at JFK for 5 hours before finally heading down to the DR.
Evantually we all arrived and we had an enjoyable evening at our really nice hotel/accommodations. A big shout out to our hosts, who have been absolutely fantastic.
The work at the school was fun because we also got to meet the teachers and the kids at the school. What a blessing to see so many happy kids and what an opportunity to help make some bigger classrooms for them. Keep Praying for us.
