Day 4
We returned to the school today and got to work digging holes, tying rebar, and painting purlins. Despite the sweltering heat and a few setbacks (like a ruptured water line) we managed to get a lot of work done. We returned to the hotel in the evening got a brief history lesson on Nicaragua. Lester, our translator, also told us his personal story of growing up in Nicaragua and fleeing the country with his family when war broke out in the 1980s. We walked to a local ice cream shop in the evening for some treats. All in all, a great day.
