It is what it is!

Today was a great day. Some woke up great, others (Tom) woke up looking like he was punched in the face by Mike Tyson...apparently when Ty and Tom were out catching geckos last night a bug decided to swim in Tom’s eye ball!

Anyways...when we were all up and finished breakfast, we packed on the bus and headed to a small pottery shop to learn how pottery is made in Nicaragua. It was very inspiring to see how hard they work and the time that  goes into their pottery. The potter that was there even made a little pot right in front of us! It was such a beautiful pot until Lester decided to show us how fragile it was and smash it! It was a sad time:(

After the pottery, we all packed into the bus again and made our way to the zip lines! There were some of us that were extremely excited to go zip lining and others that were thinking very logically about the fact that we could very well fall off and die! Thankfully no one fell! It was such an amazing experience zipping though the trees and seeing all of God’s creation first hand. Although we didn’t die from the zip lines we did almost die because of Tom, Karson, Ty, and Ansen trying to beef with some Howler monkeys that clearly did not want anything to do with us... they showed this very clearly by howling and waving their arms at us.

After we flew through the trees on metal wires and got threatened by some monkeys we went to get some lunch. We went to a place that was similar to KFC and all had some chicken, fried, and coleslaw. It was so amazing! The chicken was so juicy and crispy personally I could’ve just stayed there and ate for the rest of the day! Thankfully we didn’t do that because we wouldn’t have missed the boat ride on Lake Nicaragua to see the insanely beautiful mini islands that we all decided we would live on since they only cost from $200,000-1 million! Although the houses and mini islands were amazing, we did have another run in with some of the monkeys from monkey island...Lucy, a pregnant mother monkey, came and welcomed us to their humble abode, she also came looking for gum and chips. She was a very nice mother monkey until she decided she didn’t particularly like Erin so she proceeded to come in with the sneak attack hug then bite maneuver! Erin is fine for all the parents reading this and worrying!

After this eventful boat ride we went to a volcano! We rode up a very windy but beautiful road to go and see God’s amazingly beautiful yet extremely hot creation. The volcano was so amazing, we could even see lava!

All in all this day was amazing and at the end of the day everyone agreed with that by sharing their high and lows with the whole team!
