Salutations! My birth certificate reads “Zachary Dirk Strom”, which is quite conveniently the name I go by. Zach works too, if that tickles your fancy. I’m just your everyday, average student here at Gateway Christian School. I also go by the title of President, but that’s irrelevant right now. Mostly. I do have a huge passion for my school, and for community-building within and outside of it. In fact, I love school so much that I plan on never even leaving. I hope to pursue a future in educational studies, so that I am able to make a living as a teacher, maybe here in Canada, or maybe somewhere across the world. But that’s in the future, and I’m here to talk about me in the now. In the little free time I have, I enjoy many fine things, more specifically fine arts. Improvised theatre is one area of the aforementioned that I have a lot of experience in. Besides that, I also partake in the occasional tapping of a drum, strumming of a guitar, and vibrating my vocal chords. Apart from these spare time activities, I am also a full-time Christian. I have a constant desire for seeking our God of all things, in, well, all things. In taking part in this trip to Nicaragua, my hope is that I will be able to discover the places God is working, in a whole new place. In doing so, I will also have the brilliant opportunity to build new relationships and become immersed in a culture I’ve never experienced. Now, here is where I turn to you. Between plane tickets, accommodations, and the building supplies we’re purchasing to use down in Nicaragua, I’ve got an expensive path ahead of me. I’ve been working hard to earn money to accomplish the funds I need, and will continue to do so right up until we go. It’s not easy, however. I already lead an extremely busy life, and while my dedication to this trip is large, my time is scarce. This is where you come in, maybe. I’m not asking you for money. That’s wrong, actually. I am definitely asking you for money. Any sort of financial support is greatly appreciated. However, I know in my heart that this missions trip is something God has set forth for me, and if I am in need, he will find a way to provide. As such, I hold even greater value in you supporting me through prayer, that is something you’re willing to do. Prayer that I will be completely prepared, physically, mentally and spiritually for this trip, and prayer as I am down there, in a country far from home. This would be greatly appreciated.
