I passionately love education, and I love finding out more about schools in other countries and being able to support them in any way. I am especially excited about the transformation that can come through Christian education. A group of adults from my church is going to Nicaragua in January 2019 to help Nicaraguans work on local Christian schools, to build relationships, and to encourage each other in building the Kingdom of God. I have long wanted to be a part of one of these trips, and I finally have the opportunity to go based on the timing relative to my own school year. You may be aware of the recent political and social turmoil in Nicaragua. It is more important than ever that Nicaraguan kids are given the education now that will help them become passionate, caring, competent leaders with integrity, shaping the future of their country and the world. I am so excited about helping another school to develop in its potential to serve and transform the lives of students. As a teacher, I see in my own students how education, and particularly Christian education, has an impact on each student. As I have traveled and seen the challenges that children face around the world in access not only to education, but to quality education, I want to do what I can to learn and help.
