About Me

After graduating from Calvin College in 1991 with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, I worked as a Child and Youth Worker for nine years in a residential care facility for emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. I spent 5 years working as a Child and Youth Ministries director in an urban church. After receiving encouragement from some teacher friends and some nudging from the Holy Spirit, I decided to pursue a long lost dream of becoming a teacher so I returned to school in 2005 and completed my Bachelor of Education at Brock University. I have been teaching at Trinity Christian School in Burlington, ON. since 2006. In 2011, I completed a Specialist in Special Education. Currently, I am pursuing a Master’s in Educational Leadership with a focus in Curriculum and Instruction via Calvin College. I am passionate about finding creative ways to engage students and making better use of assessment as a means to improve student learning. I love learning and am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve God in a place where His name can be praised and His gift of grace can be celebrated each day.
