About this Project

We want to extend a huge welcome to AMG Guatemala (Advancing the Ministries of the Gospel) who will be receiving their first official training with EduDeo.

In partnership with Shalem Mental Health Network, their Director of Restorative Practices, Anne Martin, and Diane Stronks of EduDeo will travel to Guatemala on June 20, 2019.  They will be meeting with the team of AMG Guatemala and travel on to “Camp Canaan” where the trainings will happen.

Whenever an organization or an institution is moving into change, it is always helpful to work out how to deal with issues that undoubtedly will arise.  In the country of Guatemala, educators and leaders identified conflict and engagement as issues in their society.  After much discussion, AMG Guatemala chose to begin their new relationship with EduDeo by training all their teachers and leaders in Restorative Practices.  Two groups of 100 educators each will have 2.5 days together to be introduced to the Restorative Practices Framework and Restorative Circles.   The trainings will follow the curriculum and guidelines of the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) and all participants will receive official certification.  These trainings will focus on communication, engagement, and self-knowledge and, of course, crucial conversations and conflict.

As people of Christ, it is important to understand others, walk a mile in their shoes and have respectful ways to deal with issues. It is important to find better and healthier ways to live our lives.

AMG Guatemala will be providing samples of issues that arise in their schools and classrooms in order to give the teachers/leaders real case studies to work through in the training.  Anne and Diane are thrilled to have this opportunity and look forward to some really interesting and challenging engagement with the educators of the AMG Guatemala schools.

We look forward to seeing our colleagues Ruth Rodriguez and Hilaria Sipac who were able to join EduDeo in September of 2018 at the Global Summit.  Please pray for safety and for a wonderful time of learning for all!
