About this Project

In our work with our EduDeo partners all over the world, we often finish our trainings with an exercise where the participants fill in an “ACTION Plan.”  This action plan encourages the participants to name some goals that they hope to achieve with the particular training that has happened.  When we introduce this activity, we have often used a saying that is attributed to Benjamin Franklin: ”If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

Leadership is about many things: servanthood, vision, execution, communication, relationship-building and also planning.  In our goal to develop Christ-centred leaders who can in turn transform their communities and advance Christ-centred education, knowing how to plan for the future is very important.

EduDeo volunteers Peter Meerveld and Diane Stronks will be working with the principals and leaders of Sinergia Christian Schools (formerly COCREF) to develop strategic plans.  The idea is to have the leaders and principals do a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) of their institutions and to begin to identify goals and strategies to create health and growth for their schools.

Leaders have a much higher chance of reaching their goals when they work with their communities and stakeholders to identify where they ought to go.  We are so pleased that our colleagues in the Dominican Republic have asked for this particular training -- they are living into the idea of planning for success of Christian education and for that we are grateful!  We look forward to a great week together.
