About this Project

The Mbeu Deo program, local professional development endorsed by the regional Zambian education authority, strengthens the Biblical worldview of aspiring Zambian teachers and excites them about integrating that vision “in every square centimeter” of the teaching and learning process. August 2014 saw the “maiden voyage” of this program. Twenty three first-year students currently enrolled in Zambian teachers colleges participated in the two-week course; these same students are committed to returning for the next two years to follow up with part 2 and 3 of the course. Upon completion, the teachers will receive a Christian School Certificate issued by CCAP/EduDeo Ministries and hopefully receive a teaching placement in a CCAP school. Next year we hope to offer Part Two of the Mbeu Deo program. The need is great and the hearts and minds are open!

The excitement and dedication of these students was contagious. They eagerly participated in the devotions, lessons, and discussions. Our theme verse was Romans 12:2, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Judging from their verbal testimonies, their daily journals, and their projects these students were indeed transformed by the renewing of their minds and were eager to transform their schools and Zambia as well. Since textbooks are at a minimum, and Bibles are rare, they were overjoyed to be able to keep the beautiful Bibles given by a generous donor.  They are looking forward to returning for part 2 in the summer of 2015.

Mbeu Deo Overview: Mbeu Deo is designed as a sequence of three (3) two-week summer courses with a focus on Teaching for Transformation for teachers in-training so that when they graduate fully qualified according to the Ministry of Education standards they will also be fully educated with a Biblical worldview for CCAP schools. Course #1 happened in August 2014, Course #2 will be provided for the same 20 teachers in 2015, and Course #3 in 2016.
