About this Project

Purpose and Goals of Project:  To continue the support of CCAP Head Teachers and Deputies in the implementation of Teaching for Transformation and the further development of their leadership skills.

Concentration on the two Leadership Dimensions that were prioritized last year: Educational Leadership (particularly as it relates to Teaching fr Transformation) and Creating Safe and Caring Communities (concentrating on Restorative Practices and establishing a positive School Culture).

The key objectives were achieved.  A very high percentage of the participants indicated that they now feel “very prepared” to implement Teaching for Transformation in their schools.  In many ways the vision for Teaching for Transformation and its implementation seemed to “click” this year.  There was a high level of excitement and eagerness to implement upon returning back to their schools. A number of the leaders observed that teveryone seemed more engaged and involved this year.

Following up on the Restorative Practice work begun last year, participants indicated that role playing and seeing practical examples of Restorative Practice in use has encouraged them to begin using such practices in their schools.  There was a high level of excitement in putting this relationship based approach into practice at their schools.

While it wasn’t a goal going in to the week, the establishment of the Leadership Executive was an extremely positive development, showing that this group has a growing capacity and passion for taking charge of their own professional development and Teaching for Transformation implementation.  It illustrates growth and maturity as a community of schools.  As facilitators, this development was very exciting and made us proud to be part of the process.

Continue to pray for CCAP and the leaders and teachers involved in the training, that God will guide and inspire them to implement healthy practices into their school education strategies, for the benefit of each student and to God's glory.
