Add the Floors...Keep Open the Doors!

Imagine someone coming into your school and wanting to close the doors because of the floors.  Well this is what has happened in Concepcion, Belize, a small Latin American community.  The government has told this impoverished community that they must install some tile floors in their school or their doors will close.  This came as quite a blow as they simply do not have the funds to do this.

Currently the children function on concrete floors which can’t be cleaned properly and give off too much dust which is not healthy for the children attending.  Thus the government issued the warning.

EduDeo, an international educational support ministry based in Ontario, has connections with and supports the Concepcion school community in Belize.  Through on-going educational opportunities for teachers and through HANDS work teams, EduDeo functions alongside this community and has offered to send a team to the area to install floors to satisfy the government, keep open the doors and give the children a healthier school environment.

As family, {Mark & Joanne Wanders, and 6 children, {ages 9 – 21} we were approached if we would be interested in this endeavour.  After time in meeting, much discussion and prayer, we agreed.

Would you join us in supporting this community so that their school doors will remain open?  Join us in prayerful support and if so prompted, also financially.  We have a ‘Wanders Family HANDS Team’ (Help Another Nation Develop Schools) set up, and are preparing now to make the trip over the Christmas Break this winter from Dec. 23rd to Dec.31st.  Our goal is to raise $20,000 by Dec. 1st to ‘Keep Open the Doors’.  Just think, if 500 people gave just $10, 100 people gave $50, it adds up quickly!  Many HANDS indeed make light work.

Thank you so much from the Wanders, and the Belize community.
