God is good

What an amazing first day!

We just travelled from Southern Ontario to Belize and in spite of a tropical storm hitting locally for the last three days, we landed safely...Met with out Belizian contact and headed across the country for "breakfast" at 1:00pm (Belize time which is 3:00pm our time) consisting of: a pyramid of rice and red beans, fried chicken and homemade creamy coleslaw served up by Rose who was SOOOO proud of her country and made it very clear that she was thankful for us being here!

Followed by an eye opening drive to our school where we were greeted by the principle Christine Cobos, who stayed to meet us. The school was closed because of the rain which caused some serious flooding in some areas of Corozal. Again by God's Grace we have not been affected at all by this extreme weather...we were given a tour and also shown the room and hall we are aiming to help tile. Mark was upgraded from back seat luggage shoe horn to assume his former Belizian role of fifteen passenger van chaffeur and tour guide!

We arrived at our hotel, Hok'Ol K'in and after registrating and unloading the van from luggage we were forced to solve the "how to's" of unlocking our sleep deprived team members room (ie Listowellians due to their Sunday card playing all nighter) We were able to relax and reflect on the days events before meeting for dinner at 6:30
