Dear Team,
As we get ever so close to the NVR2L8 Team departure MONDAY!! I thought to connect with you.
Four directional words come to mind in considering our time together. You may have heard them before.
In, out, up and on.
Look inwards... what do we find? A person in need of Christ... daily. And so Christ renews us from the inside. Inside renewal and self-awareness of His redeeming work, gives an outward capacity to love others. We can function as grace dispensers.
Now we can look outwards with new vision... what do we see? All those whom God has deemed to cross our path who we can share our lives with... sharing the light and life and grace of Christ in serving... in loving. My needs fade; the needs of others are elevated.
And so with a view upwards we share the joy of awaiting our coming King, Christ our Advocate & Redeemer who not only dwells on high, but lives right in us!
In His power we move onwards sharing what He has done for us, grateful for what He has done in us, and serving others because He works through us. Each day has purpose.
Aware of the in, gives new vision looking out, with a view up, we move on.
May this trip be one where we forsake self, and live love and serve the other.
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
In moving upwards and onwards also in an airplane...
Remember our meeting time at Toronto airport is 4 am. Flight info was sent last email. Bring your passport!
May God bless us as we serve one another and all those we will meet.
In Christ,
Mark
